Family Home: St. Charles, IL
The homeowners contracted Complete Flooring in October of 2013 to remove the carpet in the living and dining rooms. Our job was to install and match the existing sanded, red oak hardwood floor in the kitchen and entry.
The homeowners asked if the old stained red oak could just be recoated and only sand and stain the added areas. Regrettably, we told them, we could not do that because connecting area where the old met the new was on an angle and would have very noticeable outcome.
The entire wood floor area -- old and new -- had to be completely sanded and stained at the same time.
The homeowner was pleased with the results and glad that we made the right recommendation to go through the extra steps to give the floor a uniform appearance.
